There is a lot to catch up on and I will most likely soon. Life has been rather busy. I went to California, had my laptop break on and off again, turned 20, saw Relatively Speaking, had finals, still have finals, and am getting ready for Christmas. I am going to California but will be back in time for New Years in New York. Not to get working on my to do list or continue to put it off.

Corn, Laptop not turning on, and a bbq?

Yes it is true. There is a farm in New York City. In Queens and on the outskirts of N.Y.C. but it is still there. This past Saturday was the YSA Corn Maze activity and what could I say but it was fun. I met amazing people and am planning on visiting one friend in her home of Ohio this spring break. It was a blast. There is something weird that happens at these activities. I always get moved forward into the leader position. It was dark and we all know my vision when it is bright, I started out with the flag but there was music playing and I didn't want to hurt anyone so I gave the flag to someone else. They still chose to follow the blind girl who had never seen corn off the self of the supermarket let alone be in in a corn maze who didn't have a flashlight lead them. It worked however we made it out in like 10-15 minutes. One guy who worked there said it was our LDS secret powers. The following afternoon I went to go reread President Monson's conference talk and of course my laptop wouldn't turn on. I had to wait till today to fix it and it just needed a part of the charger fixed thankfully and was covered under my warranty. Thankfully that was all since it is getting to be midterm season. My friend whom I met invited me to a bbq at his family's home a normal Sunday routine although he thought it was going to be more people from the ward. But it was fun and his family loves me but again we are just friends I still have a month and we just met.

The leaves are starting to change with me

There is a time in New York where something in the air simply changes. The leaves begin to change color. You turn off your air conditioner off. You grab a comforter. You start bringing an umbrella with you everywhere and dust off your rain boots. You grab a cardigan. It has begun. The City has begun its transformation into fall. This is my favorite time of year there is something so serene and magical about this time of year. I never was in love with this time of year while l lived in California. New York makes it magical. Or maybe it is the people and the gifts from God that truly make it one of a kind.

May the briges I burn light the way.

I am back! No I was not missing technically but I am back at school and once again my life feels normal. I have new goals, a clearer image of the type of person my eternal companion will, I know the difference I want to make in the world, and yes just like every other time I have a plan. Plus I have exciting new personal goals. I want to join the Peace Corps before heading off to Law School I have been talking to a recruiter about the available programs in Africa. I have been a little obsessed with Africa for a while now and would give anything to be able to give back to the country that has been robed of so much. I would love to go and teach English and maybe I will for like a month during a break from school those programs are just so gosh darn expensive. But we will see if it is meant to happen the Lord will provide otherwise I will just have to wait three more years and get to live in Africa with the people for 27 months. I can't wait. Anyways school has started again thankfully I love my classes and teachers (not so much theology professor). I enjoy learning and the opportunities studying in NY and at STJ has provided me with. I like the person I am becoming and the place I am taking my life. ~Side note I hate when people say where my life is taking me it almost feels as though your not taking responsibility. Let's face it wither we like it or not we have full control of our lives.~ Rant done. I like where my life is. I love my friends, family, and me. What more could I ask for?

It may not have been my day or even my week but this year ain't over yet.

I would never would have guessed Monday morning I would be single, gone through an earthquake while in NJ, moving in a day later, and waiting for Hurricane Irene to hit. But after all is said and done I am thankful for everything I have gone through and what I have learned from it all. I can't wait till October when I get to see my family.

What Happened?

So my other blog was having issues so this is the new one. Sorry for the confusion. I haven't posted recently because I have been working like crazy this Summer. On the few days I did have off each week I was either sleeping and catching up on things that needed to be taken care of or chilling by the pool. Once a week without fail I was able to spend the day with Carlos. Even though he was really busy with school and work he always seems to make time for me. So without further ado here are some highlights of my summer so far.

Carlos celebrated his birthday this past week. His birthday was Monday and since I had to work on Monday and only had Wednesday and Sunday off Carlos who I had already requested Monday off( I did as well but was unable to get it) switched the day to Wednesday. We were able to spend the day together it was such a wonderful day. I bought dinner and Carlos got mad but I couldn't let him pay for his birthday meal especially after he worked on his birthday to see me.

Harry Potter. So for everyone who knows me they know how much I love everything about Harry Potter and the entire wizardding world. So when the last movie came out there was no mistake that I was not going to see it. The original plan was to see it with my Aunts niece Danielle however one of my freinds who works with me also happens to work at the movie theater across the street and is going to get us in for free when she works there, I have the day off, and Danielle is not in Brooklyn. Because of the three key factor I would still be waiting to see it for the first time now I am waiting to see it for the second since Carlos took me to go see it. He had never read any of the books or seen the movies so I was a little bit nervous about whether or not he would be asking a million and five questions. It was fine though he only had one "Why are they writing?" referring to the goblins in Grinknotts. It was quite enjoyable he even said he liked it because of my child like interest haaha. During one of the previews it was for the smurf movie they were descibing clumsy and talking about how he always tries his best but always ends up ruining things he even joked and said oh i wonder who that could be it has now become a inside joke. But at least he knows what he will put up with for the rest of eternity.

There were other times but so far this summer has been a blur 27 more days till I move back.
